Dog Obedience Training Tips

Dog Obedience Training: We used Simple dog Training Tips to stop our Dog Behavior Problems

Read our Story…

Dog obedience training may not be such a big deal until you run into dog behavior problems such as barking, jumping, leash pulling, digging, isolation or even whining. We experienced more than half of these dog behavior problems after acquiring our dog “Tiger” from his first owner. He is a Golden Retriever, but could not listen to anyone when we first got him, he was jumping at people, barked at anything, whined unnecessarily and worst of all you could not let him loose outside the house at any given time. He liked to pull hard on the leash since it was the only way to take him out. I was ready to give him away to animal shelter, but my wife and my eldest daughter — thank goodness for them —convinced me to look for help to train him instead getting rid of him.

I loved him, but I was getting worn out trying to handle him both inside and outside the house. I like running, but my wife having trouble walking him since she (my wife) doesn’t like running as much I do. From the minute Tiger was out of the door, he was pulling constantly on the leash.

We tried seeking help from other dog owners in our neighborhood, but they all seemed to have well behaved dogs, or at least they their dogs didn’t seem to have similar dog behavior problems as ours did. I guess they really didn’t need dog obedience training like we did. I started watching the dog training programs on the TV for basic dog training tips, but they were not very effective for our dog. I even tried reading some books and joining dog owners forums for dog training tips, but I didn’t get much help. Some tips worked a little, but the main behavior problems persisted. Some of our neighbors had started complaining about our dog barking and disturbing their peace since we live in a condo.

When we found the right Dog Obedience Training tools we started seeing progress

One day a colleague at work asked me about our dog since I usually keep his picture on my desk at work. Without hiding anything, I told my friend our dog had all sorts of behavior problems and to my surprise she said her dog “Lily” went through the same challenges when she got her. She immediately recommended some resources that helped her trained her dog at home and now Lily is everyone’s favorite in her neighborhood. I took her advice and tried the dog training resource (which is an online dog obedience training resource) and I immediately saw great results in our dog’s behavior. The goodness with this dog training resource was the ability to do-it-yourself at home without a dog trainer. Their dog training videos and real life case studies offered invaluable practical approach that proved effective for Tiger, our dog.

I still think my colleague at work was God sent, since within five weeks of basic training, our dog was listening and obeying basic commands such as “come”, “go”, “stop”, “fetch” and “sit down”. We are still working on new tricks, but we now have a Golden Retriever adored by our neighbors. We don’t worry anymore about letting him loose outside by himself or walking him without a leash unless we are walking by a busy street.

We just got a new puppy for our younger daughter who had requested one for her birthday present. The puppy named “Kelly” is only few months old now, but with the dog obedience training experience we already have from training our Golden Retriever, we are having fun training the puppy. House training has especially been easier for the puppy than Tiger.
