5 Basic Dog Obedience Training Commands – The main dog training tips to stop dog bad behavior

There are five basic dog obedience training commands that your dog should master. These basic commands take time to implement if you are starting your dog training from scratch. These commands are:

“Sit”: This command teaches your dog to listen to you when you tell him or her to sit down for whatever the reason may be. A well trained dog should be able to obey when you tell him or her to sit.

“Go” command: Just like sit command, go command is usually used with other common words such as “go lie down” or “go fetch” or “go bring”. Of course if you command your dog to go, you should tell him or her where, otherwise you may end up confusing your dog. A well trained dog must be able to obey your voice when you instruct him or her to go.

“Down”: This command is usually used with other commands such as “sit down” or “lie down”. A well trained dog should obey you when you instruct him or her to sit or lie down.

“Come” command: This command does the opposite of go. This command tells you dog to abandon everything he or she was doing and come to you.

“Slow” down or “Easy” command: As you may have guessed, this command is useful when you are walking your dog using a leash. If you have done a good job with dog obedience training, your dog should slow down when you he or she hears “easy”. It is especially an important command for dogs that have a leash pulling behavior.

These basic dog obedience training commands should be done one a time to avoid overwhelming your dog. When your dog has mastered one skill, you can proceed to the next and continue reinforcing the former skill. There are several other dog obedience training commands such as “stop”, “run”, “fetch” “jump” among others that you can teach once your dog had mastered these basic commands.
